Advertisement for Bids - Sealed proposals will be received until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 31tst, 2024, by Andrea Weleski, County Engineer, on behalf of the Hubbard County Board of Commissioners. Bid Proposals will be opened and read publicly at the Hubbard County Highway Department, 101 Crocus Hill St., Park Rapids, MN, for the following projects listed below:

PROJECT(s): SAP 029-599-013 & SAP 029-624-006

SAP 029-599-013 - LOCATED ON: Island View Drive in Mantrap Township, 650 FT. NE of the Jct. of CSAH 7.

TYPE OF WORK: Structure Replacement (12’ X 4’ PC Box Culvert), Approach Grading, and Bituminous Surfacing

Approximate major items of work are: 215 Cu.Yd. of Excavation – Common; 236 Cu.Yd. of Common Embankment (CV); 616 Tons of Aggregate Base Class 5; 183 Tons of Type SP 12.5 Wearing Course Mixture (2, C); 36 Lin. Ft. of 12’x 4’ Precast Concrete Box Culvert; 2 Each 12’ x 4’ Precast Concrete Box Culvert End Sections; 780 Cu. Yd. Structure Excavation, Class U; 609 Cu. Yd. Granular Backfill (CV); 67 Cu. Yd. of Random Riprap Class III; 1050 Lin. Ft. Silt Fence, Type HI; 620 Sq. Yd. of Rapid Stabilization Method 4.

SAP 029-624-006 – LOCATED ON: CSAH 24, 1,400 Ft. Northwest of the Jct. to CSAH 7 & CSAH 24.

TYPE OF WORK: Structure Replacement (12’x7’ Box Culvert), Approach Grading, and Bituminous Surfacing

Approximate major items of work are: 585 Sq. Yds. Remove Bituminous Pavement; 70 Lin. Ft. Remove Pipe Culvert; 403 Cu.Yd. of Common Embankment (CV); 1 Lump Sum Dewatering; 455 Tons of Aggregate Base Class 5; 138 Tons of Type SP 12.5 Wearing Course Mixture (2, C); 66 Lin. Ft. of 12’x7’ Precast Concrete Box Culvert; 2 Each 12’ x 7’ Precast Concrete Box Culvert End Sections; 3031 Cu. Yds. Structure Excavation Class U; 73 Cu. Yd. of Random Riprap Class III; 631 Lin. Ft. Silt Fence Type HI, 564 Sq. Yds. Rapid Stabilization Method 4.

Paper copies of the Plan and Proposal can be examined and purchased at the Hubbard County Public Works Office, 101 Crocus Hill Street, Park Rapids, MN. 56470; (218-732-3302). The non-refundable cost for the complete set of plans and bid proposal is $20.00 (Counter Price including Minnesota Sales Tax) and $25.00 Shipped Price (USPS).

Contractors who intend to Submit a Bid Proposal on this Contract must obtain a Plan and Proposal from the Hubbard County Highway Department to become a Plan Holder and receive addendums.

Contractors, Subcontractors, Material Suppliers, and interested parties providing quotes can download a REVIEW copy of the plans and proposal at https://www.co.hubbard.mn.us/road_construction
at no charge. Look under Egram Project Information on the website for the posted files to download.

Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or corporate surety bond made payable to the Hubbard County Treasurer for at least 5% of the total amount of bid in the proposal. Bids must be returned in a Sealed Envelope and clearly labeled "PROJECT NO. SAP 029-599-013 & SAP 029-624-006" in the lower left-hand corner.

Bids will be opened and read publicly by Andrea Weleski, County Engineer, or a designated representative at the Hubbard County Public Works Office, on behalf of the Hubbard County Board of Commissioners, immediately after the hour set for receiving bids.

The Hubbard County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities therein, and further reserves the right to award the Contract to serve the best interests of Hubbard County.
