Sealed bids may be delivered to the Office of the Finance Director, Municipal Building, located at 100 North Broadway, New Ulm, Minnesota 56073 prior to 10:00 A.M. bid opening on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. The City will publicly open and read all bids received by the Finance Director immediately thereafter for the furnishing of all labor, tools, equipment, materials and every other article or thing necessary for the complete construction of the following project, to-wit:
MSAS-102 (5th North Street) Project
Work includes improvements to 5th North Street
From MSAS 102 (Garden Street) to MSAS 122 (N. Highland Avenue)
Work items include: Grading, Aggregate Base, Plant Mixed Bituminous Pavement, Concrete Curb and Gutter, ADA Improvements, Storm Sewer, Sanitary Sewer, Watermain, Street Lighting, and Turf Establishment
All bids must be sealed and marked âœMSAS-102 (5th North Street) Project❠and each and every proposal must be accompanied by a cash deposit, cashierâ™s check, bid bond, or certified check for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid, payable to the City, to be forfeited to the City in case the successful bidder fails to enter into contract and to furnish satisfactory bond within ten (10) days after acceptance of such bid. The bid will remain subject to acceptance for 45 days after the day of bid opening. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive technicalities and to award the bid in the best interest of the City of New Ulm.
Minimum wage rates to be paid by the Contractors have been predetermined and are subject to the Work Hours Act of 1962, P.L. 87-581 and implementing regulations.
A minimum goal of 8.2% Good Faith Effort to be subcontracted to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises.
