TO: POTENTIAL BIDDERS
A. Interested general contractors are invited to submit sealed bids to the Owner for construction of a new pavilion at the McLeod county fairgrounds, Hutchinson, MN. Bids will be received by the Owner at the above address before 1 PM local time on the 10th day of April, 2018 when the bids will be opened publicly. Address sealed bids to: John Brunkhorst, McLeod County Engineer/Public Works Director. Note ?Fairgrounds Pavilion Bid? on the outside of the bid envelope.
B. Bids will be received as General Contract bids. Qualified bids will not be accepted.
C. Project Description: The project consists of a new 3,500 SF pavilion located at the McLeod County Fairgrounds. The pavilion is a new open-air steel structure with a wood interior ceiling and LED lighting.

? Paper plans/proposals may be purchased from the McLeod County Public Works for a fee of $250. Make checks payable to McLeod County Treasurer and send payment to McLeod County Public Works, Attention: Pavilion Plan Request, 1400 Adams Street SE, Hutchinson, MN 55350***
? *** ONLY REGISTERED PLANHOLDERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BID ON PROJECTS. In order to be a registered plan holder you must purchase a paper plan/proposal set OR sign in to the eGram website and download the appropriate bid documents.
E. Qualified Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of Minnesota and shall have all licenses and shall obtain all permits required by the: location of project. Bidders will be required to provide a bid security in the form of a Bid Bond of a sum no less than 5 percent of the Bid Amount. A cashier?s check or a certified check in the amount of no less than 5 percent of the bid amount is also acceptable.
F. Bids must be held for a period of 45 days after submission. Work is scheduled to begin on April 30, 2018. Substantial Completion date is June 15, 2018. The agreement for the work will be written on AIA Document A101 Standard Form of Agreement between Owner and Contractor where the basis of payment is a stipulated sum.
G. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein.
